GERD, Irritable Bowel, Pre-Diabetes, High Cholesterol REVERSED

Matt Conquers Chronic Acid Reflux (GERD), Irritable Bowel, Pre-Diabetes and High Cholesterol… Eliminates Drugs

Matt came to the Goldberg Tener Clinic suffering with chronic acid reflux (GERD), irritable bowel (bloating, cramping, diarrhea), high blood sugar and high cholesterol for many years. He previously saw a Gastroenterologist who prescribed acid reducing drugs (Pepcid and other antacids) to suppress his symptoms. A statin drug was also prescribed to lower his cholesterol. Matt’s symptoms persisted despite medical treatments. Blood work also showed he was pre-diabetic, possibly resulting from the long term use of statin drugs which are associated with increased risk for diabetes. Click here to learn more about the dangers of statin drugs in our recent article “A Nation on Statins”.

Rather than treat Matt’s symptoms, we set out to investigate the factors causing his problems so they could be addressed directly. An individualized program was developed for him to implement focused on building health, allowing the systems of his body to normalize and his symptoms to dissipate. Matt no longer suffers with acid reflux, bloating cramping or diarrhea. He is no longer taking Pepcid or any other prescription drugs including statins. As an added benefit, Matt lost twenty pounds under our care as a result of improving his health. His blood sugar normalized (see before/after HgA1C Test results below).

Comments: According to the American Gastroenterological Association, more than sixty million Americans experience heartburn or reflux symptoms. Of those, approximately 15 million take acid reducing medications e.g. Omeprazole, Nexium, Zantac, Pepcid, Prevacid, Prilosec, Tums etc). Few are aware of the significant hazards associated with their use. Watch the video below for a detailed explanation of the many problems that can occur.

Also of concern was Matt’s long term use of statin drugs which are associated with increased risk for diabetes. Click here to learn more about the dangers of statin drugs in our recent article “A Nation on Statins”. Matt is now off statin drugs and his blood sugar is normal.
