Virtual Evaluations

More than half our patients come from other states or from outside the United States. Many of these patients initially contact us wanting to know if we can work with them from the start, through the internet alone. We want to help all chronically ill people recover their health but the answer to this question is “no, we choose for the benefit of our patients to see new patients for their initial visit in person.”

Dr. Goldberg and Dr. Tener meeting with a patientPatients’ bodies and situations are very different from each other. The famous nutritional biochemist Roger Williams, Ph.D. referred to these significant differences as “Biochemical Individuality”. Each of us have differences with our skeletal structures, digestive tracts, endocrine glands, immune systems and other body systems all possessing unique individual qualities having been affected by years of living, injuries, lifestyles, nutrition and hygienic habits and genetics. Understanding the nuances of each patient through a lengthy, detailed, in person interview, in addition to laboratory studies and physical examination, helps us to guide them as individuals, customizing their health rebuilding program each step of the way for their optimal outcome.

The patient’s history, taken by us as doctors, in person, is usually the most important part of an evaluation. Each part of a person’s life needs to be examined prior to the physical exam or laboratory studies. This is best done face to face in person. Then the physical examination also of course needs to be in person not over the internet! How the eyes react to light, what the status is of the teeth, gums and oral cavity in general and how the abdomen auscultates, percusses and palpates cannot be assessed over the phone or through a screen. The strength of the muscles are measured, the flexibility of the joints assessed, the blood pressure is taken, the body fat percentage is calculated… These evaluations and others can only be assessed properly by us seeing the patient in person and using experienced eyes and hands to analyze the person. Modern technology/machines have their place but do not replace the information fed to the practitioner by eye-to-eye contact with the patient, using long tested, skilled diagnostic hands-on procedures that too many younger physicians have turned away from relying instead on modern machines and AI. It is critical to interact with the patient, to see them, to talk at length with them, to understand and appreciate the person… not just the clinical findings.

If you want our best advice, based on sixty-five years of combined clinical experience, here it is: Let us use all our tools and skills to assess your joints, muscles, inflammatory issues, gastrointestinal tract, glands, immune system and other components making up each human being. Let us talk in person, at length, getting to know about you and your background. Let us do a detailed physical examination and then obtain more information through laboratory analysis and/or imaging studies.

We value giving advice based on solid data and personal interaction rather than relying solely on information conveyed through the virtual ether and machines. Following an initial, in person evaluation (a two hour process), we can and do utilize the internet to communicate with long distance patients from out of state and out of the country but first let us become acquainted with you the person. This is the way we can best serve you. This is the way in which we have helped thousands of patients over the past fifty years with chronic health issues work with us in restoring them to good health and once again enjoy all the pleasure of living.

Contact the Goldberg Tener Clinic to see how we can assist you.

Shown below are examples of some of the many patients who came to see from long distances and successfully restored their health.
